Saltwater fishing guide - 2025 season, May - September. Full time. Based in TofinoTofino is a fantastic location to live during the summer. The fishing and boating is some of the most diverse on the BC coast. Enjoy a high paced guiding environment without the constraints of lodge life.
A successful applicant will be able to proficiently operate the vessel (offshore/inshore/limited visibility), be comfortable engaging with charter guests, and be able to produce fish, sometimes under sub optimal conditions. We are looking for an experienced guide to run one of our Pursuit 255OS. We will work with the successful candidate to ensure they are dialed in on the boat, area, and fishery. We may hire an additional junior guide if we like a candidate who lacks the experience to jump into a full-time guide slot.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience saltwater fish guiding in BC waters. Candidates with recreational saltwater fishing experience in BC who have valid small commercial vessel operator tickets will also be considered.
Private accommodation is available. Work schedule is full time but will include some days off. Wage is based on experience and aptitude. A retention bonus will be paid out in mid September providing the candidate completes the season.

A successful candidate must be a bondable small commercial vessel captain and possess the following valid certifications or equivalent certifications.

- Med A3
- ROC-MC
- Basic Marine First Aid and CPR
- Certified Tidal Angling Guide endorsement and asset
- Applicants should be physically fit and able to handle offshore conditions
- Employees are not permitted to smoke or drink in the workplace
- Guiding full or half day trips (half days are typically doubles in the summer)
- Creating an enjoyable fishing experience for anglers of all levels of experience.
- Fishing a variety of fisheries including Lingcod, Halibut, Rockfish, Prawns, Crab, Salmon, and potentially Tuna.
- Cleaning and filleting fish (typically fish are cleaned and sent to local processor, dinner fish filleted)
- Preparing boat, Cleaning boat, fueling, maintaining gear, minor maintenance
- Understanding and complying with DFO fishing regulations
- Docking vessel in current, the Tofino Resort and Marina can be a challenging boat handling environment.
